Change of Residency
Please notify the Council within 14 days of moving homes and fill out the "notice of the change of address / a notice of the change of address / a notice of the address change" available at the city council.

Please remember to do the following;

  • Please obtain a change of address form from your local Post Office and mail the completed form at least one week prior to the moving date.
  • Electricity
    Please contact Shiroishi Tohoku Electric Power (0224-25-2124) one week prior, or at the latest, two or three days before moving.
  • Phone
    When your moving date/s are confirmed, please contact ‘116’ as soon as possible.
  • Gas
    Please contact your gas company and pay the outstanding amount of your gas

  • Residents Association
    Please contact your local Resident' Association, and inform them of your move. The Resident's Association can also inform you on how to separate your garbage, and the location of the garbage pickup. The local Resident's Association is also in charge of distributing the Shiroishi Monthly Bulletin. If you do not know who your local Resident's Association is, please contact: 0224-22-1333

  • Others institutions you many need to contact include your bank, and cellular phone company, credit association, Newspaper subscription, and insurance company.

When a child is born
 Please fill in a registration of birth certificate in the Community Services within 14 days of when a child is born. The same applies in the case of marriage and death.

Infant health examination and consultation


Medical Examinations will be conducted according to the month/age of the child.
A free consultation is offered when the child is two months old, and again when the child is eight or nine months old. Please confirm the date and time of medical examination at your local health center.

When a relative has passed away.
When someone has passed away, it is necessary to fill out a notice of death within 7 days. Please fill the appropriate form which can be obtained from Community Services.
